How we celebrate new year eve & 1st of Jan 2008

Happy New Year 2008 ! AKEMASHITE OMEDETOGOZAIMASU !

Well well..this is the first new year eve AYAKO celebrate with us,she was still with her mummy and brother last year this day.

As usual,papa & mummy are busy cleaning the house to welcome the new year. Since our family is pretty simple,mummy's family are staying in Japan,while papa's family will celebrate Chinese New Year.

We had a simple dinner and sitting in front of TV watching The RED & WHITE songs festival which was live telecast from NHK Japan.

When the clock strike 12 p.m. (Malaysia time still 11 pm )we wish each other happy new year and pray for a better year ahead.

Early morning of 1st Jan 2008,papa took us out to walk in the garden as mummy said women are not suppose to go out in 1st day of new year as she need to prepare for the new year ceremony.

After we come back,we have a simple ceremony by serving (sake)rice wine wishing each other happy new year, I don't really understand the custom but just need to follow.After that mummy start to call back to her hometown to greet everybody at home.
Papa & mummy went out to have their new year lunch and myself & Ayako just stay at home :(
